Excursion for master's students to Nuremberg
12.06.2025
On 10 June, the first excursion for master's students studying Batterietechnik and Battery Materials & Technology took place. A total of 32 students from the second semester onwards were able to visit the MAN Truck & Bus Group's plant in Nuremberg on this day.
The Nuremberg plant is the international centre of excellence for alternative and conventional drive technologies within the MAN Truck & Bus Group. Highly efficient, environmentally friendly drives are developed and manufactured here. Since this year, high-voltage battery packs have been in large-scale production here.
The day began with a general introduction to the company and the Materials Technology division. The students were then divided into two groups to visit the Material Technology Battery and Battery Testing & Diagnosis departments. In the afternoon, they gained insight into research and development as well as the test benches for various types of combustion engines.
MAN also presented itself to the students as a potential future employer, and the employees gave them an overview of the differences between batteries for electric cars and electric trucks. There was plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion with the students.
