From 24 to 26 June 2025, Tilo Held (Chair of Electrochemical Process Engineering) and Philipp Rank (Keylab Glass Technology) took part in aabc Europe 2025 in Mainz. Both doctoral students are members of the BayBatt Graduate School. aabc Europe brings together battery technology experts and their suppliers every year. The event offers insights into development trends, technologies and market forecasts, particularly in the context of vehicle electrification and eMobility. 

Tilo Held presented a poster entitled ‘Spray-Coated Alternating Silicon-rGO Thin Films as Anodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries’. His results show an innovative approach to stabilising cycling behaviour through targeted layer architecture. In his poster entitled ‘Concept of Self-Assembling Electrode-Separator Composite by the Buoyancy of Hollow Glass Microspheres’, Philipp Rank presented the Keylab's latest approach to manufacturing glass-based separators for lithium-ion batteries.

The exchange with international experts from industry and science provided valuable impetus for the further development of research at the graduate school.
