Prof. Danzer presents the Bavarian research landscape.

The third Bavarian Battery Congress took place in Munich on May 20. This year’s congress once again demonstrated the wealth of innovation, expertise, and networking within Bavaria’s battery ecosystem. Representatives from industry, research, startups, and politics gathered in the state capital to discuss current developments, gain new insights, and actively shape the future of battery value creation in Bavaria.

A key highlight of this year’s congress was the inaugural presentation of the Bavarian Battery Strategy by Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy. In addition, the expert panels highlighted the topics currently of particular concern to the industry: high-performance battery systems for specialized applications, the growing importance of stationary storage, and the question of how research results can be transferred more quickly and effectively into industrial applications.

In the panel discussion on cutting-edge research in Bavaria, BayBatt Director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Danzer presented the Bavarian research landscape. BayBatt was also represented with an information booth at the accompanying exhibition. In particular, the certificate course “Knowledge Transfer & Education in Sustainable Battery Technology” (WiNBat) was presented there.

With additional insights from the startup ecosystem and numerous opportunities for personal exchange, the conference provided a platform for networking, visibility, and collaboration across the entire value chain.
