The university opened its doors to the Mouse - and to many children
08.10.2025
The University of Bayreuth once again took part in the Germany-wide ‘Türen auf mit der Maus’ (Open Doors with the Mouse) event on 3 October. But in the University's anniversary year, the event was somewhat larger than in previous years. There were seven activities on offer for young scientists – and all of them were fully booked!
Among other things, CRC 1585 Multitrans offered a workshop for children aged 5 and above on the topic of ‘Energy and Matter – How is electricity generated and stored chemically?’ There, the scientists introduced the children to the extraordinary world of energy storage and showed them how it works. Joint experiments were carried out in the laboratory, and the children then built their own batteries.
