Climate Action Day – Facts, Progress and Questions 10 Years after the Paris Climate Agreement

Ten years after the adoption of the Paris Climate Agreement, a public science and action day took place on 11 October 2025 in Bayreuth's city center.
Under the title ‘Climate protection today – facts, progress and questions 10 years after the Paris Climate Agreement’, visitors were treated to a varied programme of exciting research, interactive booths and social dialogue for all age groups.
Scientists from BayBatt gave short presentations on the topic of ‘Technical advances since 2015’: Prof. Dr. Roland Marschall spoke about hydrogen, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christina Roth provided information on the topic ‘From CO2 to recyclable materials’, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Philipp Schmidt and Prof. Dr. Johannes Margraf presented technical advances in the area of performance and sustainability of battery systems, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Döpper spoke about electromobility and the circular economy.
There were also interactive information booths on the topics of ‘Hydrogen & Sunlight’ (Prof. Dr. Roland Marschall) and ‘Energy for the Future: A Look at Batteries’ (Prof. Dr. Nella M. Vargas-Barbosa).
The event was organised by the University of Bayreuth and the Bayreuth Alliance for Climate and Species Protection.
