18.11.2025
The International Battery Materials Association (IBA) presented the IBA 2025 Early Career Research Award at its annual meeting in Singapore. The award went to BayBatt member Prof. Dr. Matteo Bianchini, Professor of Inorganic Active Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage, in recognition of his outstanding work on the synthesis and atomic to nanoscale characterisation of materials for next-generation batteries.
The award is endowed with US$2,000 and also includes a plaque and the opportunity to present the research results in an award lecture at the IBA conference.
The Early Career Research Award was established in 2016 and recognises exceptional contributions to the advancement of electrochemical energy conversion and storage. It is aimed at scientists in the early stages of their careers, typically up to ten years after completing a PhD degree in natural sciences or engineering.
"This award is a great honour and confirms the importance of my research for the development of sustainable energy storage solutions," said Matteo Bianchini.
Further information about the award can be found on the official IBA website.
