The Bayreuth delegation with their Indian colleagues.

From February 23 to 27, 2026, a chemistry delegation from the University of Bayreuth visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata to foster scientific collaborations and student exchanges. 

Among the participants were BayBatt members Prof. Josef Breu (Chair of Inorganic Colloids for Electrochemical Energy Storage), Prof. Francesco Ciucci (Chair of Electrode Design for Electrochemical Energy Systems), Dr. Helen Grüninger (Junior Principal Investigator at the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry III) and Prof. Thomas Lunkenbein (Chair of Operando-Analytics for Electrochemical Energy Storage).

Many thanks to Prof. Shubhik Das (Chair of Organic Chemistry I at the University of Bayreuth) and his Indian colleagues for organizing the trip. We hope that this will initiate many valuable collaborations.
