The summer semester opened with the first general assembly for master’s students of the "Battery Materials & Technology" and "Batterietechnik" programmes. In it, the prorgramme moderators shared Information on the composition of the current student body and insights into which career paths recent graduates have chosen. Previous feedback given by the students was presented and discussed and students could voice their opinions and ask questions. This was followed by the semester opening get together, allowing students of all semesters to connect and exchange and get to know some of the teaching staff at BayBatt. The event was well received with around 50 participants, and we’re especially delighted to welcome 19 new students to the programmes this summer semester.

Currently, approximately 90 students are enrolled in both programs across all semesters, of whom about 10% already hold a master’s degree or a higher qualification from another university. The interdisciplinary program appeals to students from various disciplines; the most common prior degrees are in chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, and physics. The students, about a quarter of whom are women, come from 16 different countries on 4 continents.
