On May 6th, students from the University of Bayreuth had the opportunity to visit IFAT in Munich. The excursion was organized by the Chair of Ecological Resource Technology and a number of master students from the Battery Materials & Technology Programme also participated. IFAT is one of the world's largest trade fairs for environmental technologies, where industry, science, and innovations converge to offer solutions and foster international cooperation for current environmental challenges.

In this edition, 3.400 exhibitors from around 60 countries and regions came together to discuss their latest strategies and innovations. The convention featured 18 halls dedicated to the waste management and recycling sector, as well as the water management sector, in addition to a live demonstration area.

IFAT also offered a wide variety of events, including deep dives, lectures, panel discussions, and exhibitor presentations, where participants could make the most of their experience and gain new insights into current environmental technologies. For instance, innovative equipment and solutions for waste management, such as batteries and textiles.
