Participants of the retreat

On 22 and 23 July, BayBatt held its second workshop retreat for its full members, associated postdocs and PhD students in Bad Alexandersbad (Fichtelgebirge). With alomst 50 participants from 4 faculties the event was very well received.

The retreat facilitated networking between the various research groups at BayBatt. The members had the opportunity to discuss and advance the research center's strategy, while postdocs and PhD students exchanged on topics in early-career research. In other sessions, the BattTech doctoral programme, joint applications for structured programmes and the BayBatt master's programmes were discussed and further developed.

Poster session

The retreat also included a poster session where PhD students had the opportunity to present their projects to all participants. 21 posters from chemistry, engineering and business informatics were presented and from these, the best three were awarded a prize. The best posters were presented by Luis Henkelmann (Battery Management Methods), Faeze Asgari Sima (Systems Engineering for Electrical Energy Storage) and Xinhai Zhang (Electrochemistry).

We hope that all participants enjoyed the retreat and that the event served to establish meaningful Connections between the participants and sparked new ideas around cooperation at BayBatt!
